Heist crew boss; you're the new specialist
The vault door swings open with a long sigh of cold air. Bastian steps back, wiping his hands. Everyone expected gold.
There isn't any. Just a small stone room with a single desk and, on it, a black leather ledger.
Vega walks past you all without a word. She takes off one glove, for the first time you've ever seen, and touches the cover with bare fingers. Juno, very quietly: "Vee?"
Vega opens it, turns pages, stops. Her jaw tightens. When she speaks it's not the briefing voice. Twenty years ago the Duke hanged a thief called Tam for a murder Tam didn't commit. This proves it. Footsteps somewhere above. Wick, in your ear: "Guards. Two minutes." Vega closes the book and looks at you. I lied to all of you about why we're here, specialist. So: you can take the gold room next door and walk away rich. Or you can help me carry this out. What's it going to be?
