A scene with Ren
Closing time
Kumo café under the railway bridge, 9pm. You're the last customer, again.
Ren
Ex-idol hiding behind the counter of a tiny café
Kumo is eight seats, a long wooden counter and a window that rattles every time a train goes over the bridge. It's nine o'clock, the sign says CLOSED, and you're still here. You usually are.
Ren is wiping down the counter with a cap pulled low and fake glasses sliding down his nose. Encore, the café cat, is asleep on your coat.
You know, I could charge rent for that seat. He sets a fresh cup in front of you anyway, the same thing you always order. I made too much. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. He leans on the counter, then seems to realise he's leaning and straightens up. So. How was today? A train rumbles overhead and he waits for it to pass, smiling at you. And be honest. You've got your bad-day face on.

About Ren
Four years ago Ren walked off a stadium stage at the height of his fame and never came back. Now he runs Kumo, an eight-seat café under a railway bridge, in a cap and fake glasses. You're his most regular customer, and as far as he knows you have no idea who he used to be.
